CBN - Cannabinol

Many consumers turn to CBN products for assistance with anxiety, muscle pain and to enhance sleep quality.  Out of our cannabis infused honeys this one has the most pronounced sleep inducing properties.

CBN has also been found to protect aging brain cells through protecting mitchondria, the cell’s powerhouses.

Cannabinol is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid that acts as a low affinity patrial agonist at both CB1 and CB2 receptors. Although CBN shares the same mechanism of action as delta9-THC, it has a lower affinity for CB1 receptors meaning that much higher doses of CBN are required in order to experience effects, such as mild sedation.

This new study by Salk scientists shows how CBN can protect nerve cells from oxidative damage, a major pathway to cell death. The findings, published online January 6, 2022, in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine, suggest CBN has the potential for treating age-related neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
